Photo Gallery - 1956 Jaguar Mk VII Rally Car

In 2009 this Jaguar was turned from a barn find into a restored and fully prepared car ready for the 2009 Casablanca challenge. This gruelling 3000 mile rally from London to Morocco was organised by the Endurance Rally Association and involved many road miles as well as special stages on everything from gravel to mountain roads.

The owner, Chris Sanders, involved many people and companies in the project to get the car from a wreck to a rally car in a 6 month period, and I was lucky enough to be one of them.

I can by no means take credit for the whole project, but I was involved in many aspects from fitting minor parts and trim, to rebuilding and modifying major components like the rear axle and suspension to take the punishment of rally conditions.

I'm very pleased to say that the car completed the rally without any major problems and congratulations to Chris for his success.
